From a beginner’s 4x8 layout to a massive club layout, the Prodigy Advance Squared gives you everything you want. It is the first DCC (Digital Command Control) system so brilliantly designed that it eliminates the complexities of operation without sacrificing sophisticated technology and comprehensive features. The MRC Prodigy Advance² DCC System comes as a complete system with a Command Station (base unit), LCD Cab/Handheld with cable and a power supply.
Now you can have all the advanced DCC features without the complexity. Running is intuitive and programming is easy. The system is so user friendly that the quick start instructions are printed on the back of the handheld. No need to know about hexadecimals, no difference in address programming 2 digits or 4, and you can program while still operating other locos. Prodigy Advance² is so advanced, it's simple.
The Prodigy Advance Squared is Plug & Play with any KATO HO UNITRACK track set along with just about any N and HO scale layout. For KATO UNITRACK users, we do recommend purchasing an additional KATO UNITRACK Feeder Straight Track, which can serve as the program track for programming DCC decoder equipped locomotives. A program track is also required for those DCC decoder equipped locomotives which don't support programming on the main track.
The Prodigy Advance Squared can be easily upgrade to wireless control by purchasing the #1412 Prodigy Wireless Conversion Set which allows both the wireless & wired Prodigy Advance Squared handhelds to be used at the same time.
The Prodigy Advance Squared is rated at 3.5 amps which is enough power to control up to seven DCC decoder equipped HO scale locomotives at the same time. If you need more power, you can upgrade to the #1521 Power Booster (sold separately) which increases the current rating of the Prodigy Advanced Squared System to 8 amps for large layouts and/or running up to sixteen DCC decoder equipped HO scale locomotives at the same time.
