This FlisKits Engine Mount Kit allows you to design or convert most any BT70 based model rocket for seven 18mm cluster flights! All FlisKits engine mount kits come with highly detailed instructions to allow for easy construction, super strong mounts and long life.
The EMK7-18-70 engine mount uses SEVEN BT-20-0275 engine tubes, with engine blocks for each tube, centered in a round pattern with rings designed to fit standard BT-70 body tubes with a 0.021" wall thickness. This unique engine mount design comes to us from Robert Alway who first noticed that a cluster of 7 BT-20 tubes almost exaclty matches the outside diameter of a BT-70. This means that you could not slide this cluster into the tube as it would not fit. HOWEVER, if you replaced the outer 6 engine blocks with stage couplers, the outside diameter of the group of couplers is a near perfect match for the INSIDE diameter of the BT-70. Problem solved! Further, with the motor tubes exposed you get a very unique look to your cluster bird and also have a simple and accurately marked place for your fins (between the motor tubes!) This mount does NOT include engine hooks but engine hooks can be added to the mount if desired.
